PROTOTYPING

The benefits of our prototyping procedure

  • A cost effective method of proving out design
  • Time saving during the planning process
  • Gives confidence in end product before moving to production tools
  • Allows for design change in the planning process

See our tooling page for information on different tools we use throughout prototyping and further stages.

Why we use CNC for prototyping

  • Accuracy and precision
  • Complex geometry
  • Speed and efficiency
  • Increased material choice
  • Design iteration
  • Cost efficiency
  • Reproducibility

Overall, CNC technology offers significant advantages for prototyping, including high accuracy, complex geometry capabilities, speed, efficiency, versatility in materials, design iteration support, cost efficiency, and reproducibility. These benefits contribute to faster development cycles, improved design evaluation, and ultimately help in achieving better final product outcomes. See our CNC page for more information .

Prototyping allows for increased final product precision and confidence

For projects that require tooling, we start with the production of a prototype tool made from modelboard. This allows for a small production run to proof out the design / product with low upfront costs and short lead times. If any alterations are required, then it can be done in a cost-effective way before a final aluminium tool is produced.

We use CNC technology for prototyping as it offers several advantages over traditional manual prototyping methods.
