A Day in the Life at Plastic Mouldings Northern Ltd

The Versatile Role of a Packaging Industry Expert

With 18 years of experience in the packaging industry and a dedicated 6 years at Plastic Mouldings Northern Ltd (PMN), my daily role is diverse and customer-focused. Specialising in the Northern region, I engage both new and existing customers, helping them find the perfect packaging solutions. These range from off-the-shelf products to bespoke solutions, where we manage everything from design and prototyping to manufacturing.

Company Culture: Can-Do Attitude and Problem-Solving Focus

PMN’s culture is driven by a can-do attitude and a commitment to finding solutions for any challenge. We don’t set limits on order values and are always ready to involve established partners for particularly unique projects. This culture is deeply rooted in building trusting, long-lasting customer relationships, essential in delivering the best solutions.

How Our Company Culture Benefits Clients

Our positive approach and dedication to innovation mean that we are always ready to find or create the right solution, whether standard or bespoke. We tailor our support to match customer budgets and needs, leading to cost savings, enhanced efficiency, and improved productivity for our clients.

Engaging with Clients and Developing Solutions

Building and Nurturing Customer Relationships

Direct contact with customers is a key part of my role, fostering long-term relationships based on mutual trust, experience, and respect. These relationships, built over years, are a game-changer in providing expert advice and recommendations, crucial in sourcing the right solutions.

What Sets Plastic Mouldings Northern Apart?

Uniqueness in the Packaging Industry

What makes PMN unique is our innovative spirit and our independence from specific manufacturers. This allows us to globally source the best solutions for our customers, without being limited to certain suppliers.

Industry Challenges and PMN’s Adaptive Strategies

Addressing Budget Constraints and Market Shifts

The current economic climate poses challenges, particularly in convincing companies to switch from cardboard to reusable plastic packaging. However, PMN actively supports clients through this transition by providing comprehensive research, environmental benefits, and demonstrating the long-term cost-effectiveness of quality reusable plastic packaging.

Innovations and New Solutions in 2023

Investment in Advanced Technology and Infrastructure

PMN continually invests in innovation, highlighted by the recent acquisition of two new 5 Axis CNC machines. These machines, with their large 4mx2m trimming capacity, place us at the forefront of the industry. They enable us to create 3D objects for prototyping, product development, and manufacturing.

Additionally, our expansion to a 3-acre site allows us to stock high quantities of re-conditioned folding pallet boxes and other essential items. This readiness ensures immediate, cost-effective solutions for our clients, especially important given current import delays.
